Polynucleotides

Polynucleotides are chains of nucleotides that naturally occur in DNA and RNA. In aesthetic medicine, polynucleotides are injected as a gel composed of these DNA/RNA fragments. These fragments are of natural origin and can trigger signaling cascades in the body. They are obtained through a special purification process, Polynucleotide High Purification Technology (PN-HPT®), to ensure the highest product safety.

Biostimulatory Properties of Polynucleotides

The injected, natural polynucleotides send a signal to the body indicating that skin cells have been degraded, stimulating skin renewal and remodeling. This process resembles the body's natural healing response after skin injuries. This external stimulus can lead to skin tightening and an improvement in skin texture. Additionally, polynucleotides bind water in the skin, resulting in hydration and natural replenishment.

Skin tightening is promoted by the binding of free radicals to the aromatic compounds of polynucleotides, supporting the survival of fibroblasts. These cells are responsible for the synthesis of elastic fibers and collagen. Thus, one of the main causes of skin aging, collagen loss, is counteracted.

Application of Polynucleotides in Aesthetic Medicine

For optimal results, polynucleotides should be injected in 2–3 sessions approximately 3 weeks apart. The injection is performed deep dermally and can be administered to the face, the sensitive eye area, and the hands.
