One of the causes of wrinkles is the loss of collagen in our skin. Collagen breakdown noticeably decreases from the age of just 30. This leads to a reduction in elasticity and a high loss of moisture. Unsightly wrinkles around the mouth, nose, eyes, and chin are now the most common consequences. By using SCULPTRA, collagen production in the body is stimulated again, allowing wrinkles to be smoothed sustainably and your skin to regain its old youth.

What is SCULPTRA?

SCULPTRA is a biostimulator made of Poly-L-lactic acid, abbreviated as PLLA. It is injected into the deep layers of the skin, stimulating the body's own collagen production. This modern dermal filler is injected into the affected areas with a prefilled syringe. There, it triggers an inflammatory reaction, which in turn stimulates collagen production, tightening the connective tissue. This gives your skin new elasticity, making wrinkles noticeably smoother.

Which wrinkles are treated?

SCULPTRA possesses special properties and is therefore recommended for the treatment of deep wrinkles and skin tightening. It is primarily used for wrinkle filling in the area of the chin, nasolabial folds, as well as sunken temples or sagging cheeks and marionette lines. Furthermore, contouring of the jawline is also possible.

However, for expression lines such as forehead wrinkles or crow's feet, a pure SCULPTRA treatment is not recommended, which also applies to lip augmentation.

SCULPTRA is not only injected into the face. Other areas of the body can also be treated with this substance. These include, in particular, the décolleté as well as concealing the so-called hip dips. Many women also use SCULPTRA for buttock tightening or enlargement without surgical intervention. The result itself lasts up to three years.

Cellulite or scars can also be treated with SCULPTRA, as results can already be significantly noticeable after the first treatment.

The procedure of SCULPTRA treatment

The duration of the treatment always depends on the size of the area to be treated. The treatment duration is usually between 30 and 60 minutes.

The area where SCULPTRA is applied is always thoroughly cleaned and disinfected in advance to minimize the risk of infection. If desired, a local anesthetic can be used before the treatment, making the injections completely painless. The solution is then injected under the topmost layer of the skin using a very fine and thin cannula.

The number of treatments needed depends on the quantity and depth of the areas to be treated. The average number of treatments is two to four units. The treatments themselves are usually performed at intervals of six to eight weeks.

The result is visible immediately after the first treatment, which is due to the water-based solution. However, the volume increase slightly subsides with the reduction of water and gradually increases again with the formation of new collagen. The final result is visible after two to three months and can last for several years.
