Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid with keratolytic properties. It reduces the cohesion of keratinocytes and facilitates the removal of dead and damaged skin cells. The goal of the treatment is to control the irritation of the epidermal skin layer and promote subsequent cell regeneration.
