Mandelic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid obtained by hydrolysis of bitter almonds. It is very effective in treating photoaging, irregular pigmentation and acne.

Almond peel activates cell regeneration, reduces the cohesion of keratinocytes, promotes the breakdown of damaged cells on the skin surface and provides a more even complexion. Mandelic acid acts as a tyrosinase inhibitor, has a brightening effect, fights skin impurities and leads to smoother, even skin.

md:peel mandelic supports collagen production, strengthens the dermal matrix, eliminates fine lines and wrinkles, and improves skin elasticity and radiance.

Its hydrophobic and lipophilic properties make it effective for oily and acne-prone skin. Thanks to its ability to penetrate the sebaceous glands, it clears clogged pores. Mandelic acid, which has been confirmed to have keratolytic, antiseborrheic and antibacterial properties, normalizes sebaceous secretion in acne-prone skin.

Due to the large molecular weight of mandelic acid, it does not penetrate deeply into the skin and avoids skin irritation. It is especially recommended for patients with sensitive skin and darker skin tones who cannot tolerate other alpha hydroxy acids. Improvement of skin texture is achieved and fine lines, wrinkles, dull and uneven skin tone are eliminated without side effects.
