The Effectiveness of Mesotherapy: An Overview

Mesotherapy involves the targeted injection of individually prescribed medications and active ingredients into the skin of the treated area using thin, short needles or a special mesotherapy gun. This method was developed by the French doctor Michel Pistor.

The use of these needles or special mesotherapy guns allows for a precise and targeted injection of the active ingredients into the middle layer of the skin, known as the mesoderm.

It is a minimally invasive method that combines the principles of acupuncture, neurotherapy, and herbal therapy, while also utilizing the concept of reflex zones. The treatment is particularly gentle and is used for many acute and chronic conditions, as well as cosmetic procedures.

Application and Mechanism of Action

Mesotherapy works very effectively through the targeted local application of active ingredients and the stimulating physical action of the needles. The micro-injection is carried out during the mesotherapy session at specific acupuncture and reaction points.

This allows the active ingredients to accumulate in the skin and be released gradually. This ensures a rapid and sustainable effect without unnecessarily burdening the organism.

Various medications, vitamins, homeopathics, and herbs are injected in individual combinations. They complement and enhance each other.

Due to the potent effect and local application, the amount of active ingredients used is very small. The puncture is only a few millimeters deep and regulates the body's own defenses by modulating the immune cells of the skin.

It stimulates the blood circulation and oxygen supply of the connective tissue.

As a result, the tissue prompts the release of endorphins and anti-inflammatory substances. These are produced naturally by the body.

Through the stimulation of microcirculation and a diffusion process, the substances directly reach the lesion. Furthermore, they also reach deeper structures such as muscles and tissues, but rarely enter the bloodstream.

Mesotherapy is a gentle treatment that is low in dosage and does not burden the organism. This treatment can only be performed by trained doctors and naturopaths.

When applied correctly, it is low in side effects and complications, and is also suitable for children and pregnant women. Therefore, allergic reactions are also rare.

Mesotherapy for Cosmetic Treatment

Mesotherapy is used in aesthetic cosmetics on various body regions. It is applied in the following areas: face, neck, décolleté, hands. Additionally, the therapy can be used on other body parts where an improvement in skin texture is desired.

Mesotherapy is used to treat:

  • Wrinkles
  • Fine lines
  • Signs of aging
  • Skin tightening
  • Pigmentation disorders
  • Acne scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Anti-aging
  • Dull skin

Mesotherapy stimulates collagen production. This improves skin elasticity and supplies the skin with vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and hyaluronic acid through targeted injections.

The treatment can also be used for cellulite reduction by reducing fat cells and increasing blood circulation. Additionally, it has proven to be an effective method for hair restoration. It reduces hair loss and promotes hair growth.

Mesotherapy allows for a non-surgical and minimally invasive approach that provides fast results and minimal downtime. However, it is important that qualified professionals perform the treatment.

This ensures safety and effectiveness. Additionally, individually tailored treatment plans can be created.

FAQ

What is Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a medical and cosmetic treatment method. In this procedure, special active ingredients are injected directly into the middle layer (mesoderm) of the affected area. It is used for both cosmetic and aesthetic medical purposes. The therapy aims to treat various skin problems and improve the overall appearance.

How does Mesotherapy work?

During a mesotherapy treatment, the active ingredients are injected in small amounts and at a shallow depth using fine needles or special mesotherapy devices directly into the affected areas of the skin. Deeper structures such as muscles are not harmed, resulting in minimal redness and swelling. The individually formulated active ingredients, which may include vitamins, minerals, hyaluronic acid, amino acids, or peptides, adapt to the treatment goal.

What are the applications of medical Mesotherapy?
In medical Mesotherapy, it is successfully used to treat various conditions. These include, for example, muscle and joint pain, hair loss, cellulite, scars, sports injuries, osteoarthritis, and other orthopedic issues. Treatments at intervals of several weeks ensure a sustained effect.

How long does a Mesotherapy session last?

The duration of a mesotherapy session varies depending on the area to be treated and the specific goals. Typically, a session lasts about 20 to 60 minutes.

How many sessions are needed for optimal results?
The number of sessions required depends on the type of treatment, individual goals, and the patient's condition. Generally, several sessions at intervals of several weeks are recommended to achieve the best results.
